Nurture and cultivate the seeds or new attitudes and actions that you are sowing into your marriage. Seeds won’t grow unless you deliberately and systematically commit to watering and tending the soil. We must commit to cultivating and nurturing the new virtues that we want to see growing in our hearts and in our relationships. Keep maintaining what you are gaining. Like gardening, relationships require perseverance and vigilance. It’s not enough to sow and grow. You must be relentless in removing the weeds that keep returning. Weeds are the hurts and regrets that we’ve stored in our subconscious minds. They creep back into our lives as negative scripts and destructive responses to difficulties in our relationships. We’ll learn how to remove these weeds by implementing new redemptive responses.
